Open weight image models aimed at teams that need to own their pipeline. That is a different buying decision from the rest of this category: the question is less what a subscription costs and more what running it yourself costs.
A published price and a hosting bill are not the same number
Black Forest Labs prices the hosted API rather than the models. Its documentation publishes a rate per image for every FLUX.2 variant and the figure at the top of this profile is the lowest of them. No monthly seat appears anywhere on that page, so nothing here converts into the subscription figures the rest of this directory carries.
The word from in that figure is the vendor's own and it is load bearing. The rate scales with output resolution: the docs state that the first megapixel costs a flat rate and each further megapixel adds to the total, so a larger image costs more than the number in the table. It is a rate, not a price.
The open weights route carries no figure at all, and that is the answer rather than a gap. Against its open weights variant the same table prints its own note, reading open weights, non-commercial, no hosted API. What that route costs is your own hardware, and we are not going to convert it into a total cost of ownership we cannot source.
Neither the pricing page nor the credits and billing page mentions a free tier or trial credits. That is a description of what those two documents do not say, and it is not the same as either of them saying there is none. Our methodology is why we keep those two sentences apart.
One note about the link above. The rendered documentation site did not serve us its own content, and Black Forest Labs publishes a plain text copy of every page beside it. The figures here were read from that copy, which is why the address ends the way it does.
