Veo is not sold the way the rest of this category is sold. Google prices it per second of output through the Gemini API, and that is the surface we read. We did not check Google's consumer products.
The free tier row says Not available, in Google's own words
This is worth stating precisely because it is the kind of absence that is usually inferred rather than read. We are not saying "we could not find a free tier". The Gemini API pricing page has a Free Tier row for the Veo models and the value printed in it is "Not available". That is Google stating it, not us concluding it.
Practically, that means the cost of finding out whether Veo suits your work is whatever a handful of test seconds costs, paid up front. For a team already on the Gemini API that is trivial. Of the seven tools in our video ranking, Veo is the one whose vendor page prints Not available in its free tier row.
