This site's whole claim is that every number carries a source and a date. Profiling a product built on the same idea, and doing it with an unsourced price, would be a contradiction a reader is entitled to notice. So this profile carries a quote and no figure, and the reason is worth stating precisely.
The consumer site did not serve us a document. Asked on 24 August 2026, perplexity.ai returned a refusal rather than a page, and it did so to two different clients rather than to one that might have been misconfigured. What came back was an interstitial of a few kilobytes, the same size and shape whether we asked for the homepage, the pricing page or a URL that cannot exist. That last comparison is the one that settles it: when the real page and an invented one return the same thing, neither reading means anything.
What the quote at the top does and does not describe
The one line we can attribute comes from Perplexity's developer documentation, which did serve us a page. It describes the API platform that other products are built on, not the consumer answer engine most readers arrive here about. It is quoted with that source named rather than presented as a description of the thing you would sign up for.
No entry price appears above, and that is a statement about our reading rather than about the company. Perplexity may publish its prices plainly to anyone who opens the site in a browser. We did not obtain that document, so we do not know what it says, and recording a price we could not read would be the exact failure this profile opens by warning about.
