What separates the tools here
The unit. Generative video vendors meter credits or seconds of output; avatar vendors meter minutes of finished video, and a minute of finished video is a unit a buyer can actually reason about against a training budget.
That makes the free tier unusually informative here. A tool that renders ten minutes a month is aimed at a team producing internal updates. A tool that renders three clips is aimed at someone evaluating it.
Why this is not filed under AI Video
A presenter reading a script and a model generating a shot are bought by different people for different jobs, and they publish different units. Ranking them together on output quality would produce an order that reads as authoritative and means nothing, because the two are not trying to make the same thing.
Cost is a different question, and one you can put to both. Our video ranking compares these two against four generators and an editor on what each free tier grants, states that axis at the top, and marks which steps in the order are real gaps and which are our judgment.
What we publish here
The vendor's own published limits, each with the page it came from and the day we opened it.
