Every ranking here names its axis in the first section. If a candidate axis turns out not to separate the field, it gets thrown away rather than used, because a ranking on an axis everything satisfies is arbitrary in both directions.
The category hubs cover the same ground more broadly, and each one names the tools it has profiled.
