How this site makes money.

The short version

Some links to vendors on this site are affiliate links. If you subscribe after following one, the vendor may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it never changes a score, a ranking or the order of a list.

That last sentence is a commitment, not a formality. We do not accept payment for placement, and we do not let a vendor review a page before it publishes. If either of those ever changes, this paragraph comes down before the practice starts.

Where you will see it

Every affiliate link carries the disclosure directly above it, in the same block, before you click. Not in the footer and not on a page you have to go looking for. Affiliate links are marked rel="sponsored nofollow" and open in a new tab.

What our links are not

We do not add invented tracking parameters to a vendor link. Where we are not in a vendor's programme, the link is simply their plain product URL, and it earns us nothing. You cannot tell the difference from the page, which is deliberate: the link goes where it goes regardless of whether it pays.

Whose logos those are

Product names and logos belong to their respective owners, and they appear here only to identify the products we write about. A logo on this site is not an endorsement, and no vendor has approved what we say about them. Where we do not have a mark we can use, we draw our own two letter tile instead, so a letter tile is ours and is never a claim to be theirs.

Why you can check us

Every figure we publish carries the document it came from and the date we read it, listed in a source ledger at the foot of the review, comparison or profile it appears on. If a number here disagrees with the vendor's own page, the vendor's page is right and ours is stale. Tell us at hello@thesmartaistack.com and we will correct it.
