Find the AI toolsworth paying for.

We read the pricing pages and the documentation, then put the tools side by side. Every figure on this site names where it came from and the day we checked it.

Overview

A calmer way to choose an AI tool.

Most "best AI tools" lists are affiliate rankings in disguise: reordered by commission, refreshed from a template, never checked against the vendor's own page. We compare what is published, on an axis that separates the field, and we show the working.

"A figure that reaches this site has been read off a document we can link to, on a date we can name. If you disagree with our judgment, the facts underneath it are still yours to check."

Claude vs Gemini: what each subscription actually buys

Anthropic's Claude and Google's Gemini compared on published prices and free tiers. Two figures each, both dated, with editorial calls kept separate.

Method

Five steps, every page.

The same sequence runs behind every review, ranking and comparison here. It is published in full so you can tell when we have not followed it.

Read the method
  1. 01

Pick an axis that separates the field

Score every tool on it before ranking anything. If they all score the same, that axis decides nothing and we find one that does.

  2. 02

    Read what the vendor publishes

Pricing page, documentation, changelog. Record the URL and the day a human opened it.

  3. 03

    Cite benchmarks by name

Where somebody else measured it, we link to their published result and say whose it is.

  4. 04

    Score against a published rubric

The judgment is ours. The facts underneath it are checkable without agreeing with us.

  5. 05

Name who it is not for

Required on every scored review before the page will build.

New reviews publish here first.

Questions

The obvious ones.

The vendor's own pricing page and documentation. Every review, comparison and tool profile ends with a table listing each figure, the document it came from, and the date a human opened that document.
