OpenAI has ended Sora, and it published both halves of that: the apps are gone, and the API has a date on it.
What OpenAI has published about the end
OpenAI's help center puts both dates in one sentence: the Sora web and app experiences were discontinued on April 26, 2026, and the Sora API will be discontinued on September 24, 2026. Opening openai.com/sora/ today redirects to that article rather than to a product page.
The first of those dates is in the ledger at the foot of this page, with the document it came from and the day we opened it. The second falls thirty days after the day we last read that article, which makes it a deadline rather than a migration window for anything already built on the API.
The API rate is still published, and it is the only price here
The developer pricing table still lists $0.10 per second for sora-2 at 720p, and it was there when we read it on August 25, 2026. That is what a developer is billed while the API is up. It was never what trying the consumer product cost, and there is no consumer product left to try.
Why this page is still here, and why it is out of the ranking
The question people arrive with is whether Sora is still available. Deleting this profile would answer that with a 404, which tells them nothing and breaks every link anyone saved. So the page stays, the date sits at the top of it, and the document that date came from is linked.

Those two sat together for four weeks. The page had an answer the whole time and our fetcher could not read it, so the absence protected the ledger and did nothing at all for the sentence above it. Not publishing a free tier figure we had not read is the policy working. A line written from expectation is what nothing here was checking.
